Pro Kabaddi 2019: Matches, Players, Schedule, Squads & Teams

With a couple of major changes, the Pro Kabaddi 2019 is finally here sporting a rejuvenated look. The Pro Kabaddi League (also known as Vivo Pro Kabaddi League for sponsorship reasons) is the professional Kabaddi league of India, which allows kabaddi players to test out their skills against the best aside from the national duties. The 2019 edition of the tournament will be the seventh season of the admiringly successful national spectacle. With the ICC World Cup officially over, the Pro Kabaddi League is all geared up to garner the interest of the sports fans throughout India.

Pro Kabaddi Season 7

PKL 2019 is slated to start from 20th July and will go on for a duration of three months. The opening day will be part of the Hyderabad leg and will be played out at the Gachibowli Indoor Stadium.

Pro Kabaddi League 2019 Schedule

The official Pro Kabaddi Season 7 Schedule for the tournament is already out and all the individual teams have released their list of fixtures on their respective social media handles. Information of the legs played out in each city is provided under the ‘Matches’ heading.

One of the biggest changes of the Pro Kabaddi 2019 is that the zonal system of the previous editions has been scrapped. This means that each of the teams will play against each other and there will be a single points table as opposed to the previous tradition of two.

The first match of the new season will be held on July 20th, and the league will be played for its usual three month period with the final expected to be held on October 19th. The opening match will be played between the Telugu Titans and U Mumba at the Gachibowli Indoor Stadium in Hyderabad.

Pro Kabaddi Matches

Two games will be held on almost every match day, and with the new format of the league match days are inevitably going to be daily throughout the three month period. The matches will be played on the basis of the venues and will be classified as phase or legs. The legs with their respective dates are given below:-

Mumbai Leg: 27 July-2 August
Patna Leg: 3-9 August
Ahmedabad Leg: 10-16 August
Chennai Leg: 17-23 August
New Delhi Leg: 24-30 August
Bangalore Leg: 31 August-6 September
Kolkata Leg: 7-13 September
Pune Leg: 14-20 September
Jaipur Leg: 21-27 September
Panchkula Leg: 28 September-4 October
Greater Noida Leg: 4-11 October

Pro Kabaddi Teams

Similar to the last season, the seventh season of PKL will feature 12 teams. The Pro Kabaddi teams are Bengal Warriors, Bengaluru Bulls, Dabang Delhi KC, Gujarat Fortune Giants, Haryana Steelers, Jaipur Pink Panthers, Patna Pirates, Puneri Paltan, Tamil Thalaivas, Telugu Titans, U Mumba and UP Yoddha.

Bengaluru Bulls will play as the defending champions, after winning their first title in the last season. Patna Pirates, on the other hand, will be playing as the most successful team in the league with three consecutive titles to their name from 2016-2017.

All eyes will be on Siddharth Desai who was bought by Telugu Titans for a whopping Rs 1.45 crore, making him the most expensive player of the Season 7. The 28-year-old Siddharth, who made an explosive start to the PKL as he notched up 218 raid points on his debut for U Mumba last season.

Pro Kabaddi Season 7 Schedule, Time Table & Fixtures: Today Match

The much anticipated Pro Kabaddi league is all set to kick start its seventh season from 20th July 2019. Started back in 2014, very few would have expected it to become the second most followed sporting league in the country after the Indian Premier League. With every season, the league has managed to become bigger and better, and this time around with a shift in the format of the tournament the organizers look to take the league a notch higher.



Pro Kabaddi 2019 will be held in a round-robin format. All 12 teams will play against each other in as many as 132 matches before the top six teams would qualify for the playoffs stages.

The eliminator 1 and eliminator 2 will be played on 14th October, while the semi-final one and semi-final two will be held on 16th October 2019. The final of Pro Kabaddi season 7 will be held on 19th October 2019.
